ISPP Supports scholars whose academic freedom is at risk!

See our Scholars under Threat webpage for an overview of our initiatives and information on how YOU can help.
ISPP's "Scholars under Threat" Fund

ISPP is committed to keeping colleagues from Turkey connected to the international community of political psychologists. You can help by donating to the ISPP Scholars under Threat fund through this link.

ISPP will match any contribution, up to $40,000, until December 31, 2018.

Several sister organizations generously offered support by sharing ISPP's call for donations among their membership.
It is now possible to request funds for immediate emergency support for personal living needs. The funds are also available for supporting scholars under threat to continue scholarly activities.

Observe trials in Turkey

Upcoming trial dates:
December 12, 2018; February 7, 2019

ISPP is seeking observers for trials in Turkey among members with experience in ISPP leadership. As many of you know in January Dave Redlawsk, ISPP President-elect, and Masi Noor, Governing Council member, went to Turkey on behalf of ISPP with Steve Reicher to observe the trial of an ISPP member (click here for more information).

Colleagues in Turkey as well as the case lawyer have stressed the impact of international observers on the court process. Observers also serve in boosting morale. For ISPP sending observers to Turkey is an opportunity to get first-hand information about the current situation and to jointly plan support actions.  Colleagues in Turkey have therefore asked us to send observers for other trials of ISPP members. The trials have up to now been held in Istanbul and ISPP has allocated some funds to support travels of observers.  If you are interested in joining the pool of observers get in touch with us via info@ispp.org.
Gender Studies under threat in Hungary

ISPP's leaderhip has been watching the developing situation in Hungary regarding gender studies, and they have sent a statement of concern to the Hungarian government. Read the statement here.

To provide the award committees with a diverse nominee pool, take a moment to think broadly of people who you could nominate or encourage to self-nominate for the different awards.

Looking for Political Psychologists in Germany
Political Psychology is a growing research field, also in Germany, but there is little exchange between researchers of different disciplines.

In order to tackle this we would like to improve the communication between political psychologists in Germany and, at the same time, examine the need for such an action. Please take part in our short survey and join our mailing list!
