These 4 papers explore how national identity is constructed in relation to definitions of 'other'.  Two papers examine how national pride is related to positive emotional attachment toi the group and representations of the national people.  The other two papers examine how ingroupness is contingent upon comparison with a relevant ethnic, national or political 'other'.
