| After the Third Reich was defeated, the expression of openly anti-Semitic attitudes was, to be sure, discredited in the German public, but anti-Semitism did not, however, disappear entirely. A central aim of this panel is to investigate how criticism of Israel motivated by anti-Semitism can be differentiated from other forms of criticizing Israel, whether and how the media coverage on the Middle East conflict contributes to the formation of anti-Semitic attitudes and what role efforts at coming to terms with the Holocaust (in the media) play in the development of modern anti-Semitism. |
